It’s looking like we’ll have decent golf weather over the next couple days—so long as the rain holds off this evening. On tap for tonight’s Highlands league is Empyrean Brewing Company’s Zookeeper IPA, a benefit brew in support of the Lincoln Children’s Museum. Featuring Citra and Simcoe hops, this extra-hoppy brew features tart citrus flavors and a muggy, rainforest aroma. It’s a light, smooth one for the hop heads among us. We’ll also offer cans of Firestone Walker’s Luponic Distortion Release No. 10. This iteration of Luponic Distortion includes hop cultivars from the Pacific Northwest, Germany, and Australia that lend notes of creamy mango, peach, and ruby red grapefruit.
For Tuesday’s Holmes league, we’ll be tapping Empyrean’s Tropical Pale Ale, an easy-drinking pale ale with notes of pineapple, papaya, mango, orange, and lemon. This limited, single-batch brew is not quite as hoppy as Empyrean’s Zookeeper, with a smooth, citrusy finish. On the course, we’ll be sampling Empyrean’s Pitched Blue Black & Blueberry Ale (featuring fresh blueberry flavor and subtle biscuit malts) and Chaco Canyon Gold, a slightly malty golden ale with nicely balanced hints of honey.
