Week #7 Beers
Ryan Cooper
After a week off from the holiday, Monday’s Highlands league is back on this week. On tap for Monday is White Elm’s Saison, a classic Belgian saison brewed with a hint of wheat, along with strisselspalt hops and White Elm’s own saison yeast. This week’s featured can is Lagunitas’ 12th of Never, which features a blend of hops that yield bright citrus, coconut, and papaya flavors in a light, yet full-bodied beer.
On tap for Tuesday’s Holmes league will be Empyrean Rum Barrel Aged IPA, an Imperial IPA aged in a mix of rum and bourbon barrels to add a tropical rum punch flavor.
This week’s featured beer for the rare beer dinner sweepstakes is Goose Island’s Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout. This Imperial Stout is made with a different coffee each year from the neighboring Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea of Chicago. Since the coffee used changes each year, so does the flavor profile—resulting in a unique beer every time.
Be sure to check in with GolfStatus to be entered for a chance to win a spot at the rare beer dinner, and track your round for opportunities to win other great prizes. Big thanks to Moran’s Liquor Works and K&Z for their ongoing support of Craft Beer Golf League.
