Hello, golfers! Looks like we're in store for some cooler temps this week, so that will be nice for a change.
Our pin prize from Moran’s is a Tilquin Gueuze. Tilquin is a Belgian brewery known for its world-class sours. It's a rare treat when we get a shipment of these in Lincoln, so for those of you who are on the sour bandwagon, I'd highly recommend heading over to Moran's to pick up a few of these. As of this writing, they still had a few of each of the beers that came in with the last shipment. They probably won't last much longer, and it's likely that we won't see any more in Lincoln any time soon.
Our featured beer for the Rare Beer Dinner Check-in Sweepstakes is Bourbon County Brand Barleywine from Goose Island. I talked about the popularity of Bourbon County Brand Stout last week, and the impact it has had on the beer community since its inception. Each year, there are a handful of variants of the standard BCBS, and these are even more limited and hard to get. The Barleywine variant is considered by most to be one of the best for the style. It has a world-class rating of 99 on beeradvocate.com.
For the Highlands league this week, K&Z has us set up with a trio of IPAs from Firestone Walker, out of California. On tap, you'll find Easy Jack, a Session IPA. There will be someone on the beer cart pouring tastings of Union Jack IPA and Luponic Distortion: Revolution No. 006.
At the Holmes league, Quality Brands will have some selections from Colorado’s Breckenridge Brewery. On tap, we'll have their Summer Pils. On the beer cart, you will be able to taste and purchase cans of Agave Wheat, and Nitro Vanilla Porter.
As always, make sure to check in on the GolfStatus app for your chance at winning a seat at one of our Rare Beer Dinners.
