2nd Half Week 3 Beers

Ryan Cooper

Hello, golfers! Sorry for any confusion anyone may have had over our Highlands beers we posted about in the last couple of weeks. There was a slight hiccup in the scheduling, after the week off because of July 4th. That should all be sorted out now, and back on the correct schedule.

Our pin prize from Moran’s this week is Responsibly from Nebraska Brewing Company, down the road in LaVista. Responsibly is a Quadrupel, aged in brandy barrels. Nebraska Brewing has built up a reputation as one of the best breweries in the state, and they have a handful of very highly rated beers on Responsibly stands out to me as one of their best. It was part of their 2016 Reserve series, and is currently retired. It is likely we will never see this beer again, once all remaining bottles have been sold. If you've never tried this beer before, I'd highly recommend seeking it out, while you still can . . . or better yet, win one as a pin prize!

Our featured beer for the Rare Beer Dinner Check-in Sweepstakes is Michigan Maple Jesus from Evil Twin Brewing. Evil Twin is well-known for Even More Jesus, their Imperial Stout. There have been many variations on that beer, and Michigan Maple Jesus is one of the most highly sought of the bunch. This one didn't make it to very many markets, so we were pretty fortunate to see it on our shelves here last fall. It comes in with a world-class rating of 96 on

For the Highlands league this week, K&Z will have some brews from Lagunitas Brewing Company, out of Petaluma, California. On tap, we'll have Aunt Sally, an American Wild Ale. On the beer cart, you'll be able to get tastings of 12th of Never, an American Pale Ale, and Lil' Sumpin' Extra, a Pale Wheat Ale.

At the Holmes league, Quality Brands has us set up with selections from Saugatuck Brewing Company, out of Michigan. We'll have Neapolitan Stout on tap, in the clubhouse. You'll be able to get tastings of Blueberry Maple Stout, and Backyard IPA on the beer cart.

As always, make sure to check in on the GolfStatus app for your chance at winning a seat at one of our Rare Beer Dinners.
