Week #8 Beers and Info

Ryan Cooper

Hello CBGLers! We have another hot week upon us, so be aware and cautious of the dangers of alcohol and dehydration in the heat.

Our pin prize from Moran’s this week is Enjoy By 7.4.17 Unfiltered IPA from Stone Brewing. In one of the earlier weeks we highlighted the standard Enjoy By. This one differs in that they skip the filtering process in the end, which leaves behind the yeast and hop sediments and creates a hazy IPA, which has become one of the hottest styles of beer in recent years. You'll find the unfiltered version to have more intense fruit flavors and a heavier mouthfeel than you'll generally find in an IPA.

Our featured beer for the Rare Beer Dinner Check-in Sweepstakes is Pirate Bomb! from Prairie Artisan Ales out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a rum barrel-aged version of their very popular Bomb! Imperial Stout. The base beer is brewed with coffee, cocoa nibs, ancho chili peppers, and vanilla beans. The rum barrel aging really brings out some more complex flavors of vanilla and coconut. This one would make for a fantastic after-dinner dessert beer. It comes in with a world-class rating of 99 on beeradvocate.com.

For the Highlands league this week, K&Z has some selections of Sam Adams from Boston Brewing Company, plus last week’s make-up beers from Lucky Bucket. On tap, we'll have Sam Adams Porch Rocker, a fruity summer beer. On the cart will be tastings of Rebel Juiced IPA and Sam Adams Summer Ale, a pale wheat ale.

At the Holmes league, Quality Brands will be bringing some brews from Omaha’s Infusion Brewing. You'll find Strawberry Kiwi Kettle Sour on tap in the clubhouse. Danielle, from the brewery, will be on the cart pouring tastings of Vanilla Bean Blonde and Radial IPA.

As always, make sure to check in on the GolfStatus app for your chance at winning a seat at one of our Rare Beer Dinners. Rare Beer Dinner #1 was a blast last week. You will definitely want to get in on one of these!
