Final Week Fall 2017

Ryan Cooper

Hello, golfers! We're down to our final league night of the year at Highlands. We hope everyone has had fun, and hope to see you back next year!

For our pin-prize from Moran's Liquor Works this week, we'll have a bottle of Nuttiest Professor from Avery Brewing, out of Colorado. This is the 45th beer from their amazing Barrel-aged Series, a Bourbon Barrel-Aged Peanut Stout. With the exception of a few beers that have made it to a yearly return, each new beer in the Barrel-aged Series is a one-off recipe that won't be brewed again. Once it's gone, it's gone. For those of you who are fans of barrel-aged stouts, this is one you'll want to grab before it's too late.

Our featured beer this week for the Rare Beer Dinner Check-in Sweepstakes is Stickee Monkee from Firestone Walker, out of California. This is a barrel-aged Quadrupel from their highly regarded Proprietor's Reserve series. Each of the beers in the series is very limited in numbers, and usually hard to get your hands on when they come out if you don't have your name on a waiting list for them. Stickee Monkee isn't your typical Quad. They tweaked the normal recipe a bit, to make their own new beer style that they call a Central Coast Quad. The taste is similar to an English Barleywine. It comes in with a world-class rating of 97 on beeradvocate.com.

For your included beer to start the round this week, Quality Brands will have a keg of Buffalo Sweat, an oatmeal stout from Tallgrass Brewing, out of Kansas. They will also be bringing the heat with some really cool pin-prizes available to win.

Make sure to check in on the GolfStatus app for your last chance to win a spot at the final Rare Beer Dinner of the year.
